The following are some of the items considered hazardous and not picked up with regular household refuse: adhesives, aerosol cans, automotive fuels and fluids, corrosives/cleaners, dental amalgam, fluorescent light tubes, gasoline, mercury, oil based paint (no latex/acrylic), pesticides/herbicides, photographic chemicals, pool chemicals, solvents/thinners, varnishes, shellacs, stains, paint thinners, solvents and waste oil.
Tires (rims off) will be collected at the Town Highway Garage, 77 Laroe Road, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, the second and third weeks of May each year. Lawn clipping are not accepted by IWS or by the Town or Village. Each residence that pays for garbage in their property taxes is provided with one garbage and one recycling toter. There should be nothing in the roadway that would impede or delay the removal of snow or ice. Garbage must be in the containers provided by IWS. Place your trash and recyclables out the night before. Your scheduled pickup for garbage collection and recycling are on the same day each week.
